On 1 October the Hub was bursting with activity for our 35th birthday celebration and the Grand Opening Extravaganza for Seniors Festival. Lively and colourful performances filled the Stadium and Studios 1 and 2, while demonstrations occupied the library space and quieter pursuits such as art and craft filled Studios 6, 7, 8 and 9 as well as Meeting Room 2. The mooncake cooking demonstration presented by Lan Tiet was a great success, with 34 eager participants. Lan had some beautiful hand-crafted mooncakes prepared beforehand and showed the group how these are made. She encouraged a couple of participants to come up and learn (hands on) as she made them.
