The Spring Festival took place on 17 November as it was postponed from its usual October schedule to accommodate council elections. Despite the change in timing, the event was a success, brimming with vibrant performances and enthusiastic participation. See the photo gallery
Weather-wise, the day experienced short bursts of rain and was rather windy, but these conditions did little to dampen the spirits of our performers or the audience. Though there was an initial delay to the program, all performances proceeded smoothly and concluded on time, showcasing the dedication and resilience of everyone involved.
Lively performances
The festivities kicked off with great energy at the Superhero Stage, where our Swing Band set the tone with a lively performance. Simultaneously, the Power Moves Pavilion came alive with Rock and Roll Dancing, captivating the audience right from the start.
The Power Moves Pavilion continued to dazzle with stunning Chinese and Tibetan dances performed by our talented members adorned in beautiful, colourful costumes. Adding to the mix, two of our Line Dance classes showcased their skills with routines set to diverse musical styles. The Pavilion also featured Taiji Fan and Cantonese Opera with Movement, adding unique cultural and artistic variety to the event.
Over at the Superhero Stage, the Zumba performance brought an upbeat, interactive vibe despite the drizzle. Some members from the audience even joined in, making it a truly engaging experience. Following Zumba, our 30-member Choir delivered a remarkable repertoire of classic songs that resonated beautifully with the audience.
Artistic talents on display
Adding to the Festival’s artistic flair, an impressive display of acrylics and pastels artwork was showcased at The Round, highlighting the creative talents of our members.
A heartfelt thank-you goes out to all the participants who braved the weather to share their talents and make the Spring Festival an unforgettable event. Your tremendous effort and determination truly made this celebration shine!
