We’ve had a very busy November with a successful enrolment, and special thank-you events for our Volunteers and Leaders. Welcome to our new members; we look forward to meeting you in 2025. We also have a special opportunity for our members to access discount car hire.
Monday 25 November was our first day for 2025 enrolments and as at early December, we have over 2,300 new and current members enrolled for 2025. It was great to see that nearly 2,000 members enrolled online with the balance enrolling at the Hub.
Thank you to our Course Admin team, Committee of Management, Reception Desk Volunteers, enrollers and cashiers for an enormous effort over the last couple of weeks.
Welcome new members
To our new members, I extend a very warm welcome to U3A Nunawading and hope you enjoy 2025 at the Hub. Early in the New Year you will be invited to a morning tea with our Member Liaison team which will help familiarise you with your new surroundings, and I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible.
Volunteers Morning Tea
On Tuesday 3 December, I attended the Volunteers Morning Tea at the Hub which was a function to thank all our hard-working volunteers for their outstanding effort in 2024. A big thank you to Athalie Edis, Sue Fraser and their team for putting on such a lovely spread. A most enjoyable function.
Leaders Lunch
Thank you to Elsie, her Course Admin team, and the Committee of Management for organising a wonderful Christmas lunch to honour our fabulous Leaders on Wednesday 6 December. Over 180 Leaders and key Volunteers enjoyed a lovely spit roast lunch and sweets at the Hub, with the interviews of Leaders by Elsie a highlight of the day. There was a great atmosphere in the room, and it was a privilege to thank our Leaders who give so much of their time to contribute to the smooth and professional running of U3A Nunawading.
Discount for members
I am pleased to announce that, thanks to the efforts of our fishing group, we can offer a discount to our members for car hire with Avis and Budget. You’ll need to contact Course Admin for a code. See the Snippets article for more information.
