Recycle your great reads

By the U3A Library Team: Val Biggs, Robyn Cox, Mary Lloyd, Sue Ebert.

The U3A Borrowing Library welcomes donations of popular books that people will want to borrow to read. All donated books must be in good condition to be accepted by the library. Read on for how to donate and use the library.

How it works

  • When Hub users find a book that they want to read, they can take it home.
  • Once they’ve finished, they either return the book or donate another one in its place.
  • Returned books should be placed on the corner shelf in the library labelled ‘Returns,’ while donated books go on the ‘Donations’ shelves located beneath the Returns shelf.
  • The Library Team will select popular books in good condition to be placed on the borrowing shelves.
  • Books that aren’t being borrowed will be moved to our Free Tub, where anyone is welcome to take them and give them a new home.
  • Damaged books will be recycled.

The Military History Library is separate

The books on the other side of the shelves belong to the Military History Library. This is a separately managed library.
