With the warmth of the sunshine there’s a lot to enjoy being out and about including a musical crowd performance of ‘You’re the Voice’; a special quilt display and an opportunity to connect through a unique workshop, plus importantly, Spring brings an asthma alert.

Beware and prepare for thunderstorm asthma

During grass pollen season (1 October – 31 December) people may experience an increase in asthma and/or hay fever symptoms and the chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma rises.

For people with asthma or hay fever, especially those who experience wheezing or coughing with their hay fever, thunderstorm asthma can be sudden, serious and even life threatening.

Experience the joy of ‘You’re the Voice’!


A stirring crowd performance of ‘You’re the Voice’ at Box Hill Town Hall will have you immersed in music. You can also enjoy a video showcase and great company for an inspiring intergenerational event! Light refreshments will be served. Cost is $5.

Artistic quilt display

AQIPP exhibition at Artspace will host a fabulous display of original art quilts that express this year’s theme – pathways. This is a very popular biennial fixture at Artspace, and the creative work is independently judged and awards presented on the opening night to exhibiting artists. Entry is free.

No strings to sing

This is a unique and inclusive community workshop that incorporates breath, play, movement and vocalisation to create joy and connection. It’s not a choir and there are no regular commitments or public performances. You don’t need to remember anything or read sheet music and there is no talent or skill required.

You will learn to:

  • connect your body and your breath

  • explore your voice

  • play and explore with others

  • have HEAPS of fun!

It’s a sure-fire way to feel great, and to meet some like-minded people from your community.
There will be one-hour workshops throughout November and early 2026. The cost is $15 / $12
