President’s Report

Monday 24 November was our first day for 2026 enrolments and as of Friday 5 December we have over 2200 new and current members enrolled for 2026. It was great to see that nearly 1800 members enrolled online with the balance enrolling at the Hub.

To our new members I extend a very warm welcome to U3A Nunawading and hope you enjoy 2026 at our U3A. Early in the New Year you will be invited to a morning tea with our Member Liaison team which will help you familiarise yourself with your new surroundings and I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible.

Thank you to our Course Admin team, Committee of Management, Reception Desk Volunteers, Enrollers and Cashiers for an enormous effort over the last couple of weeks.

Volunteers Morning Tea

On Tuesday 2 December I attended the Christmas Morning Tea at the Hub which was a function to thank all of our hard-working volunteers for their outstanding effort in 2025. A big thank you to Gita Hickman, and her team for putting on such a lovely spread. A most enjoyable function.

If there are members out there who would like to give something back to U3A by becoming a Volunteer on reception please drop Gita an email at

Leaders Lunch

Thank you to Elsie, her Course Admin team and the Committee of Management for organising a wonderful Christmas lunch to honour our fabulous Class Leaders on Wednesday 3 December. Over 190 Leaders and key Volunteers enjoyed a lovely spit roast lunch and sweets at the Hub. There was a great atmosphere in the room and it was terrific to see so many of our Leaders who give so much of their time contributing to the smooth and professional running of U3A Nunawading.

Tunstall Park senior fitness equipment

Whitehorse Council has completed the installation of the seniors’ fitness equipment in Tunstall Park and it should be available for use very soon. If you are looking for something to do over the break, check it out!

In closing off for 2025 I would like to wish all members and their families a very merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.

Until next time…
Gary
