All members are invited to attend the City of Whitehorse Sustainable Living Weekend being held on 1 and 2 May at the Box Hill Town Hall. The event has been designed to encourage us all to make the small changes that can have a positive impact on our lifestyle, finances and the environment.
There will be plenty of free sessions presented by well-known experts including Gardening Australia’s Millie Ross, writer Tim Flannery and media commentator Nicki Hutley.
Topics covered will include building a garden with whatever you’ve got, veggie gardening for beginners, how to get the best energy deal and climate solutions in the era of COVID-19.

Tips on Recycling
Not all waste items can be disposed of in Whitehorse Council’s kerbside bins but there are many items that can be recycled if we know where to take them, including batteries, electronic waste, gas bottles, cylinders and many, many more items that should not go into landfill.
This section of the Whitehorse Council website gives lots of helpful information about recycling: https://www.whitehorse.vic.gov.au/waste-environment/rubbish-recycling/recycling
