Although we had a very large collection of books at Silver Grove, donated by members over many years, they were not easily accessible, being housed as they were in a compactus in the front office.
Now, with the move to the Hub, our books are fully on show for all to see and borrow. There are many genres of fiction arranged by author and you no longer need to record the title you are borrowing.
If you have any novels at home in good condition, please feel free to donate them to our community library and if you do borrow one that is in very poor condition, please dispose of it rather than bringing it back. The whole thing just works on an honour system and is another great feature of our new home.
In addition to the hundreds of novels, the Military History class also has its books on show and available for borrowing by members. However, for Military History books you are asked to fill in the details of what you are borrowing in the Lenders Log located next to the books.
Pictured enjoying some books from our library are from left: Sylvia Chuah, Peg Wong, Peter Cox and Helena Maynard.
