Whitehorse Council has several events coming up which may spark your interest. You can enthuse youngsters with gardening, enjoy singing with others, get support if you are a carer or help to promote respect for older people. Check out these varied activities below.

Cultivating connections

Volunteers are invited to attend a special two-hour gardening session with Grade 3 students from Kerrimuir Primary School on Thursday 14 May from 9:30 am to 12 noon at Greenlink Box Hill, 41 Wimmera Street, Box Hill North. To book go to: trybooking.com/DKAWV

Whitehorse One Voice 2026

If you love to sing, Whitehorse One Voice is returning in 2026 and choirs, community groups and individuals of all ages are invited to be part of an intergenerational mass choir. Caring for yourself workshop

If you provide unpaid care and support to an older family member, friend or neighbour, you may be interested in this workshop to learn about:

  • Why caring for yourself is essential
  • Barriers to self-care
  • Practical tips you can use right away
  • Services and supports to promote your wellbeing

When: Tuesday 28 April, 1 pm to 3:30 pm

Changing the conversation about ageing

The Beyond Age project created by Seniors Rights Victoria and delivered by Whitehorse City Council challenges ageist attitudes and promotes respect for older people. The project asks community members to reflect upon their lives to showcase different experiences of ageing.
