In 2021, COVID-19 spoiled many things, but it didn’t stop the enjoyment and unbridled enthusiasm of the Table Tennis class when we got going again, and 2022 is set to be even better.
Thanks to the commitment of our members who came back to play after numerous lockdowns, we had a great time. Our end of year celebrations showcased our team spirit with everyone contributing to a feast of multi-cultural snacks and an unexpected guest in a red suit even dropped by for some festive fun.

The new year begins
Our 2022 Table Tennis class kicked off on Tuesday, 1 February. We play from 9.30am to 12 noon every week at Kilsyth Sports Centre. Our players have a mix of skills and if you haven’t played before, we’re happy to spend time to get you started.
Table Tennis gives the mind and body a workout and the camaraderie is the cherry on top.
You don’t have to play every game and we have a break for morning tea and a chat. There is a weekly fee of $5 to cover the hall hire, smoko and the loan of a bat. Friends can also come along as a guest. It’s a diverse and friendly group.
Professional musician shares tips and benefits of deep breathing
Recently, Table Tennis player Eric Klay, who played lead trombone for 35 years with major Melbourne orchestras, offered to share his expertise about deep breathing techniques after one of our sessions. The 30 members who listened thoroughly enjoyed the informative tips on how to improve breathing; something that we tend to take for granted, but it can be very important to help with a speedy recovery from illness, including COVID-19.

New players are always welcome – let the good times roll and give Table Tennis a go!
