Volunteers with Uniting support people to do the things they love

Uniting Victoria and Tasmania are seeking volunteers in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs to join their Social Support program to help people stay connected with their community.

The Uniting program has clients with a variety of interests, and they look forward to meeting like-minded people from U3A. Volunteer support could include:

  • a home visit or a chat over the phone
  • meeting for coffee
  • sharing a skill or interest
  • being part of an activity group.

Training and commitment

As a valued member of the Uniting Social Support team, volunteers have access to ongoing training and development opportunities and the support of a dedicated volunteer coordinator.

The time required to volunteer is as little as a few hours a fortnight or week.

Requirements

Volunteers need to have the following:

  • a driver’s licence
  • National Police Certificate (Provided by Uniting)
  • Working with Children Check (Provided by Uniting)
  • up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support people to live their best lives. For more information call Uniting on 13 93 75 or email
