Staying Connected!
U3A Nunawading is well known for its friendly welcoming atmosphere. During this current pandemic, the Committee of Management and Class Leaders have worked hard to keep members connected.
Around 45 Zoom classes are being delivered weekly and another 30 or so Leaders are keeping in touch with class members through their own personal online accounts or by phone and email. Nearly 300 members are connecting with other members through our Facebook group.
Look out for our new website which is scheduled to go live at the end of this month. The web address remains unchanged at u3anunawading.org.au but I am sure you will find it much easier for accessing the information you are looking for.
Of our 2,200 members, only 99 now have no email. We continue to ring these members on an as-needs basis to make sure they are OK and are mailing the two Hub Bulletins below to them this week.
For a brief time, we were able to offer a limited number of classes at Silver Grove. However, the lockdown of Greater Melbourne means all face-to-face classes are cancelled.
Work at the new Hub continues, and we hope to begin a limited number of classes in Term 4 in line with COVID-19 restrictions. All users are required to develop a COVID-19 plan, which our Committee will be working on over the next month or so. Please refer to Bulletins 1 and 2 – attached – for more information.
We have deferred our Annual General Meeting from 19 August to Wednesday 9 September and are planning to deliver it via Zoom. We will provide further information closer to the date.
Stay safe and well over the next six weeks. There will be better times ahead and we look forward to reconnecting with you all then.
Warm Regards
Liz Hooper
