Usually, only two U3A Reception Desk Volunteers are seen at any one time in the U3A Nunawading Reception area. However, each day for a week this month, many Reception Desk Volunteers were seen enjoying lunch together next to the community library at the Hub. Each team of volunteers had the rare opportunity to meet one another and to socialise.
The lunches were an occasion early in the year to show appreciation and to thank the volunteers on behalf of the Committee of Management and members for the work they do on the Reception Desk. See the gallery of photos.
The first few weeks of Term 1 have been an extremely busy time, with the volunteers assisting members and new members with classes, payments, and many of the other tasks that they do each day. The lunches provided a short break for relaxation.
A big thank you to the team that made it all possible – President Gary Walker and the Committee of Management members who each do a half day of duty in the office each week supporting our Reception Desk Volunteers: Lorraine Fowles, Colin Carter, Sue Ebert, Frank Baseden, Paulina Chong, Marlene Fernandez, Terry Hart, Valerie Donlon and Carol Clough.
