On Monday 7 August and Thursday 10 August the Member Liaison Sub-committee prepared and served successful morning teas to new members. Though new members have only been able to enrol for class vacancies since Term 3, both sessions were well attended, cheerful and lively. Eighteen attended the Monday session and ten attended the Thursday session.
Short information presentations were given by our Vice President Valerie Donlon (Monday) and President Gary Walker (Thursday). The morning teas give new members an opportunity to meet other new members, feel comfortable in the Hub venue, get to know more about U3A Nunawading and the enormous contribution volunteers make to its success and also to meet Gary and Valerie.
Many questions were asked regarding becoming a leader, volunteering, absences and enrolment for 2024.
Thank you to the Member Liaison Sub-committee members Val Biggs and Sue Fraser for their commitment and work on the day. The Sub-Committee Convenor, Marlene Fernandes, is currently overseas.
