With the end of another very successful year fast approaching I would like to thank all leaders, volunteers and our Committee of Management for their exceptional dedication and hard work in making U3A Nunawading a great place to live, learn and enjoy.
Membership update
Membership continued to grow in 2023 and enrolments for 2024 are looking very positive at this point in time. Summer School enrolments have been solid giving members something to look forward to in the new year.
Social activity
There has been plenty of social activity in 2023, and our Christmas in July and our Cup Eve functions were highlights. International Women’s Day and a number of Coffee & Cake functions were also successful.
Special thanks
Congratulations to Paulina Chong and her team for organising our participation at Seniors and Spring Festivals held at The Round in October. We had an information booth, great Art displays and our Dance classes, Choir and Swing Band performed at their usual high standards.

To our Quilting Class thank you so much for the two magnificent quilts that you made, which we were able to raffle. This year, we donated $1000 to the 1st Nunawading Scouts who were over the moon to receive such a large donation to help with the ongoing training of local scouts.

The Volunteers Morning Tea on 6 December was well attended, and congratulations to Athalie Edis and her team for putting on such a beautiful spread.
Keep up-to-date
This year, we have been able to make use of the big screens near reception to keep members informed of current and future activities. These are a great way to get information regarding what’s going on, so please, make time to have a look whenever you are at the Hub.
I wish all members a very Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year and look forward to catching up when we return in February 2024.
Until next year…
Gary
