This year’s theme for the Seniors Festival from 1-31 October is ‘Explore, Engage and Evolve’ and there is no shortage of things to do to celebrate ageing well and having fun. A highlight will be the Whitehorse grand opening hosted by U3A Nunawading on Sunday 6 October. Check out the great program we’re offering!
A grand opening not to be missed!
There is no doubt a highlight of this year’s Senior Festival will be the local grand opening proudly hosted by U3A Nunawading, and everyone is invited to attend:
Date: Sunday 6 October
Time: 10 am to 3 pm
Where: Nunawading Community Hub, 96-106 Springvale Road, Nunawading
Many of our members will be showcasing their fabulous talents and entertainment will include the swing band, choir, guitar, dance, and exercise classes. There will also be art and craft exhibitions, and refreshments will be available throughout the day. Join in the fun and show your support for our U3A local community.

Local activities
Whitehorse City Council has a diverse program of activities throughout October to engage, inspire and encourage seniors to try something new or follow a passion.

A must for music lovers is the Whitehorse Seniors Festival grand finale, the Yacht Rock Revival, a toe-tapping performance of music from the 70s and 80s:
Where: The Round Theatre, 379-399 Whitehorse Road, Nunawading
When: Monday 28 October
Time: 10 am for morning tea and the two-hour show starts at 11 am.

Major events

Free public transport
From 6 to 13 October, Victorian Seniors Card holders can travel across Melbourne or regional areas for free. For metro travel, touch on with your seniors myki card and you won’t be charged. For regional services that don’t use myki, just show your Victorian Seniors Card to the conductor or bus driver.
