From the Course Admin team

Thank you to all who renewed their membership or joined as new members online. We had prepared for a large number to come to the Hub for face-to-face enrolment, however, as you can see from the photo the queue was small. Nevertheless, there were still some long waiting times during the day for those who chose to come in. As I write this, we have 2025 members registered for next year.

Waitlists

If you are on a waitlist for classes, be assured we are working on these and, where possible, we will try to fit you in. Please check your emails regularly, including your junk/spam folders, as you will be advised by email when you have been accepted into any class. Some courses with very long waitlists are now ‘Closed’ and you may not see them in the course list online unless you use the filter to show ‘Closed’ courses.

Coming to classes in 2023

Term 1 commences on Monday 6 February. Please check your enrolment for Day/Date/Time and Venue, as there have been some changes since the booklet was printed. Remember to wear your U3A Nunawading name badge at all times when you come to the Hub. If you are a new member and do not have a badge or your new member booklet please let the volunteers know on the Reception Desk before you attend your first class.

Fee payment

If you have not paid your membership fee and have been accepted into a class, you must pay before you attend your first class. You can do this online using PayPal and your PayPal account or your credit card. Alternatively, you can pay at the office when it is open from 9 January to 20 January for Summer School and then reopens for the U3A year on 30 January. Please remember that we do not accept cash at the Hub.

Thank you

Thank you to all our Leaders who volunteer to share their skills and knowledge with U3A Nunawading members. In 2023, we are offering 275 classes with 205 Leaders.

At the end of this year we have said goodbye to leaders Maya Hirai, Naomi Towers, Zarina Wu, and Malcolm Buley. Also Rene Carrasco and Manny Alexiou who are taking a break in 2023.

Naomi (pictured left) and Maya (pictured right) were able to be present at the Leaders’ lunch to receive gifts in recognition of their service.
