The End-of-Year Concert was a wonderful showcase for the talented members of U3A Nunawading, some of whom were performing in public for the first time, and some of whom had years of experience behind them.
Class Leaders encouraged audience participation and throughout the day the crowd tapped their feet, clapped their hands and joined in the dancing, creating a fabulous atmosphere in the room, often shouting encouragement during some of the livelier numbers.
Sixteen groups performed over the day with music classes in the morning and movement classes followed a short lunch break. See the photo gallery here
The audience were treated to a wide range of musical styles in the instrumental and choral session, including Chinese String Instruments (Erhu), three Guitar groups, two Ukulele groups, our Choir and the Silver Grove Swing Band.
In the afternoon session, the audience was dazzled by the colour and movement of Chinese Dance, Greek Dancing, three Line Dancing classes, a Rock’n’Roll session, where half the audience got up and joined in, Belly Dancing and a combined Zumba session.
The concert, which was arranged by Elsie Mutton and Paulina Chong, and compared by Valerie Donlon, was a joyous way to finish a most successful year at U3A Nunawading.
Thank you to the Class Leaders who prepared their classes for the concert and congratulations to every single performer for giving their all and providing wonderful entertainment for their fellow members.
