You can enrol in up to nine classes in our January Summer School as part of your 2022 membership.
The 65 talks, walks, sports, workshops and excursions run from Tuesday 11 January to 21 January with almost all classes free of charge except for some materials costs for craft classes and tickets for the excursions.
Classes at the Hub include
- Presentations on Non-boring Writing, the Importance of Units, Melbourne Circle: Stories from the Suburbs, Japan and its Culture, the Life of Coco Chanel, Kokoda, Travel in Australia, Ancient Egyptian history, Leonardo de Vinci, and the Great Stink of 1858 in London to name just a few
- Demonstrations of Ikebana (the ancient Japanese art of flower arranging), care of Orchids and Cookery
- Workshops on Making baskets out of used plastic, Watercolours, Pastels, Sculpture, Screenwriting, Raffia hat making, Hoop embroidery, Knitting, Crochet, Sewing kit in a glasses case, Latin Music, Chinese Opera and Meditation
- ‘How to’ Classes on Cryptic Crosswords, Suduko, Scrabble and How to beat Spam
- Exercise Sessions including Tabata, Walking/QiGong and Boot Camp.
- A Trivia Quiz

- Excursions to the Chanel Exhibition at the NGV and the Johnston Collection
- Opportunities to Play Golf, Table Tennis and Lawn Bowls
- Walks from Fairfield to Abbotsford Convent and from Fairfield to Brunswick
