Morning tea was organised on 4 and 6 April to welcome new 2023 members to U3A. It was a wonderful opportunity for our new members to meet and greet each other over a cuppa and some cake.
The event began with a warm welcome by our President Gary Walker, who spoke briefly about what U3A is all about and the different committees which are run by volunteers. Gary concluded that the ‘best way to be involved is to get involved’.
Elsie Mutton did what she and Ken do best – getting the new members familiar with all the dos and don’ts of being a member of U3A.
The highlight of the event was the interactive session that followed. The members engaged in lively conversations, getting to know each other better and sharing their experiences. It was heartening to see how the new members quickly felt at home, as shown in our photo gallery.
Overall, the event was a success, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of the members and the organising team of Mary Fox, Sue Fraser and Marlene Fernandes.
