Welcome to Term 1 at U3A Nunawading! It was wonderful to see so many happy faces returning to classes earlier this month.
Keeping you informed
Many of you have commented on how much you enjoy our regular Updates and find the information of interest. Occasionally, however, we hear that some members are not receiving their newsletters and we find that, in most cases, they have not checked their email Spam or Junk folder.

If any of your friends or classmates tell you they do not receive these Updates or other emails from U3A, it is most likely because security settings on their computer or iPad have classified them as spam. If you have an opportunity, it would be great if you could mention this to them. It is important that all our members read our communications so that they know what is going on at their U3A.
This is a perfect opportunity to say a sincere thank you to our excellent communications team of Valerie Donlon, Helen Smith and Chris Raverty, and to welcome Janice Jones (pictured), to that team.
Janice has a very strong professional background in communications and will be a great addition to the team that keeps you up-to-date with what’s happening through our Updates and website.
Volunteers keep our wheels turning
The last couple of weeks have been very busy preparing for our 2022 U3A year with Reception Desk Volunteers and Class Leaders attending their annual Information Sessions. Along with the Committee of Management, these are the key people who keep the wheels turning at U3A Nunawading.
If you can spare a half day or two per month to volunteer on the Reception Desk, please register your interest by clicking on 22AAVOL1 Volunteer to help on Reception as though you are enrolling in a class via our website. Reception Desk Volunteer Coordinator Judith Palmer will be very pleased to follow up with you.
We thank everyone who volunteers their services to U3A Nunawading for their contribution.
The Hub opens at 8:30 am
Finally, just a little reminder that the Hub does not open to users until 8.30am. You may see Council staff inside but they are busy preparing the building for the day’s activities so please refrain from trying to enter until they are officially open.
Best wishes to you all for a very happy and fulfilling year!
Liz Hooper
President (on behalf of the Committee of Management)
