President’s Report

President Gary Walker with Social Committee members at the morning tea on 17 May

May has been a buzz of activity at the Hub with our members enjoying their classes and social activities.

Tickets for our Christmas in July celebration are now available at Reception, details are available in this newsletter. Also in this edition are reports on the get-togethers we’ve had, plus reminders of our upcoming three-week term break and the AGM. Have you considered volunteering for the Committee of Management?

Afternoon tea for new members

On Wednesday 1 May the Member Liaison Committee held an Afternoon Tea for new members with Elsie Mutton giving a very informative talk regarding U3A, and more particularly, Nunawading U3A.

These gatherings are a great way for new members to learn about U3A and I encourage all new members to get along when invited.

AGM advance notice

The next Annual General Meeting of U3A Nunawading will be held on Wednesday 21 August here at the Hub.

At this meeting all positions on the Committee of Management become vacant, and I encourage members to consider nominating for Committee for 24/25. Some members registered their interest on the enrolment form and I will be contacting them shortly.

I know that this is very early notice of our AGM, but it gives members plenty of time to consider if they wish to volunteer.

Should you wish to seek further information please email me at Nomination forms will be available from late July.

Three-week winter break

Term 2 at U3A Nunawading finishes on Friday 21 June and Term 3 commences on Monday 15 July. This is our three-week break which in some cases is a week longer than the gazetted government school holidays. Something to be aware of, if you are planning to get away and escape some of our winter weather.

Until next time…
Gary
