This is the last newsletter for Term 2, so I’d like to remind you that we have a three-week break before the start of Term 3. Also, this is another reminder of the upcoming AGM and your opportunity to give back to this wonderful organisation. Finally, congratulations to the Thornburn Ladies for their Biggest Morning Tea.
Biggest Morning Tea
Congratulations to the Thornburn Ladies who ran the Biggest Morning Tea on Thursday 28 May here at the Hub and raised around $5000 towards Cancer research. Thank you to all the U3A members who supported this function by purchasing food and raffle tickets, and trying to guess how many lollies were in the jar.
AGM coming up
The next Annual General Meeting of U3A Nunawading will be held on Wednesday 19 August at the Hub. At this meeting all positions on the Committee of Management become vacant and I encourage members to consider nominating for the 2026/27 Committee.
U3A Nunawading is a wonderful organisation, and I am sure that all who have served in the past have found it most rewarding. Should you wish to seek further information, please email me at : and I can meet with you to give you an overview as to how U3A Nunawading works. Nomination forms will be available late July.
Three-week mid-year break coming up
Term 2 at U3A Nunawading finishes on Friday 19 June and Term 3 commences on Monday 13 July. This is our three-week break which in some cases is a week longer than the gazetted government school holidays. Something to be aware of if you are planning to get away and escape some of our winter weather.
