Over 60 new and returning volunteers were welcomed and thanked by President Gary Walker for working on the U3A Nunawading Reception Desk at an Information Session held at the Hub before classes commenced.
Reception Desk Coordinator, Athalie Edis, also thanked the volunteers for being the friendly and helpful first point of call for U3A members, and recognised the importance the volunteers play in the operation of our organisation.
Outlining the role

Volunteers had the opportunity to gain an overview of the Reception Desk function, learn of changes to procedures, and to meet their Team Leaders and fellow Team Members. Team Leaders were able to discuss with their team the training and support that will be provided for new volunteers.

Committee Duty Members were also in attendance and met the volunteers they will be working with and supporting on the Reception Desk. Community Hub Duty Officer Craig Pearcey, and Course Administrator Elsie Mutton, provided a little bit of light theatrics to help reception desk volunteers manage questions and concerns they may be asked about in relation to issues at the Hub.
We express our appreciation for the contribution these volunteers make and wish them a rewarding and happy time in their role on the Reception Desk.
