In the week before classes began at U3A Nunawading, 56 enthusiastic new and returning Reception Desk Volunteers gathered for an information session to refresh and update their knowledge and prepare for the year ahead.
Presentations reviewed the processes
President Gary Walker warmly thanked the volunteers for their wonderful contribution, acknowledging their vital role as the friendly first point of contact for U3A members and prospective new members.
Course Administrator Elsie Mutton also expressed her appreciation and shared valuable insights into the many aspects of working at the Reception Desk, highlighting the importance of understanding the evacuation procedures to ensure everyone’s safety.
My presentation thanked the group for their ongoing commitment and reviewed the wide range of duties undertaken by Reception Desk Volunteers, including answering phones, taking payments, assisting members, and supporting the Administration Team.
A great start to the year
The session provided a great opportunity for volunteers to meet their Team Leaders and connect with fellow team members, with tea and coffee and cakes to finish.
We wish all our Reception Desk Volunteers a happy, rewarding and enjoyable time in their role, and sincerely thank them for the welcoming spirit they bring to U3A Nunawading.
