As 2023 draws to a close, we take a look at members enjoying their end-of-year class celebrations, a milestone birthday, fun at Christmas workshops and we are reminded of some great local events to look forward to including carols, school holiday activities and an Australia Day Concert.
End-of-year celebrations
Many classes enjoyed a chance to celebrate the friendships and fun had as a U3A member throughout 2023, and have shared their group’s smiling faces at their end-of-year gatherings in our Christmas photo gallery. Thank you to everyone who contributed these happy snaps.
Birthday cheers
The Tai Chi Shibashi class celebrated Evelyn Bowman’s birthday in late November. She is the leader of the class and turned 93 years old! Just goes to show, age does not matter when you love what you do.
Christmas workshop fun
During enrolment week, a series of workshops provided an opportunity to get into the Christmas spirit, with Christmas card making, Christmas book trees and Christmas baubles. Some lovely creations resulted. See the Christmas workshop photo gallery for a taste.
Whitehorse carols reminder
The Whitehorse Carols on Saturday 16 December is the night of nights for Christmas cheer and is the ultimate destination for free family fun filled with music, laughter, and holiday magic. Whitehorse summer school holidays
Get ready for an awesome summer school holidays with a program of fun and affordable activities all over Whitehorse! Australia Day Concert 2024
Enjoy the rhythm of classic hits and stellar performers for all ages, culminating with a spectacular firework’s display at the Whitehorse Australia Day Concert on Friday 26 January from 6 pm to 10 pm at the Whitehorse Civic Centre Precinct. There will also be free rides, face painting, interactive activities for the kids, and a selection of delicious food and treats. Best of all, this event is FREE, so put it in your 2024 diary.
