The U3A Nunawading Military History Group have a rather unique model of content delivery in its various learning activities. Instead of the traditional top-down delivery of a set syllabus via a lecturer, the group members generate their own content.
Sheila Moore was instrumental in the establishment of U3A Nunawading in 1990. She was Secretary in 1991, President in 1995, and Secretary from 1996 to 1998. Sheila was also one of the stalwarts in getting U3A Network Victoria established.
It’s beginning to look like Christmas with celebrations in full swing, and this edition of Snippets includes a reminder about the Whitehorse Carols and local festive activities, plus there are two local market days to help you stock up on Christmas goodies. There is also an update from the Art Appreciation class; details about a volunteer opportunity, and a request for photographs of end-of-year class get-togethers.
Days before, we anticipated a wet Spring Festival but much to our delight, the weather was kind on the day bringing together a community from all walks of life who attended.
The Melbourne Cup Eve Afternoon Tea on Monday 6 November was filled with style and a palpable sense of excitement. Guests were welcomed with a glass of bubbly champagne or soft drink and given a Mystery Bet ticket.
