Pick up a great read at U3A

Reception Desk Volunteer Marj Coghlan (left) shows her Reception Desk partner Sue Needham where to return the books.

The U3A Borrowing Library can be found near the Course Administration Office. Most of the books are fiction, but we have a small biography collection at the end of the fiction section. These books are marked with a ‘B’. If you find a book you wish to read then take it. You can return it when you finish or donate a suitable book in its place.

Please place returns on the shelf labelled Returns in the corner of the library. Donations should be placed on the Donations shelves beneath the Returns shelf. Donations of FICTION BOOKS and popular biographies are welcome. However, donations that fall into the following categories will be recycled:

  • damaged
  • have yellow pages, through ageing
  • have small print (due to demographics of readers)
  • nonfiction (other than popular biographies)
  • magazines/periodicals.

As with all other aspects of U3A, the library is managed by a dedicated group of volunteers. You can help by keeping the shelves tidy.

Please note that the Military History Library on the inside shelves of the Borrowing Library is a different library with its own management system, and stickers indicating that they belong to Military History. Please help keep the libraries separate.
