We were very pleased to host a visit by a photographer from the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing last month. A number of photographs taken by him of our members are featured in the Ageing Well in Victoria Action Plan.
For members looking to join additional classes we have lots of new and interesting classes starting in Term 3, including Craft, Exercise, Humanities and Music which are listed below.
If you were at the Hub on Tuesday 7 June you may have seen a photographer taking photos of many of our classes in action. A selection of these: Art Appreciation 3, Swing Band, Chinese Dance Beginners, Chinese String Instruments, Eastern Mah Jong and Zumba 1 were chosen, along with some from other U3As, to illustrate the Ageing Well in Victoria Action Plan which was recently launched by the Minister for Disability, Ageing and Carers, Colin Brooks.
At the launch, the Minister said, “Our state is better off because of the significant contributions of senior Victorians. Through the action plan, we are ensuring senior Victorians are appreciated, respected and enabled to live well later in life.”
I think we can all agree that U3A is doing its parts in helping Victorians age well.
