Looking for an extra class? There’s a long list at the bottom of this article. Also check the website for any of our general classes that may have a vacancy. Please do not enrol in a class unless you are confident you can attend each week.

We have two special events coming up. A number of you have been asking for us to put on a session re the referendum. Your request has now been met. See the article later in this newsletter. And for Seniors Month in October, Aqualink is offering a bodyscan at the Hub.

Reminder about badges

Once again, please make sure you wear your name badge whilst you are in the Hub. This makes life so much easier when we know who you are, not only if you have an accident, but it also shows you belong to U3A Nunawading.

Can you offer a class in 2024?

Forms have been sent to current leaders regarding their volunteering as a leader in 2024.

One of our long-standing leaders Kathy Leitch, who takes the Nordic Walking class is not returning. If anyone would like to take over the leadership of this class Kathy is very happy to talk with you and advise what is involved.

Are you thinking of offering a class in 2024? Now is the time to do so. You can email

SPECIAL EVENT – Body scan at the Hub Monday 23 to Friday 27 October

As part of Seniors Month in October, Ashley Myers, the Health and Fitness Manager at Aqualink Box Hill and Nunawading, is giving U3A Members the opportunity to have access to a Body Scan. The cost will be $5.00 per member attending.

What does this entail you ask? The Body Scan is a non-invasive, fully clothed (no shoes) test looking at your Body Composition. It measures your muscle mass, body fat, metabolic rate, bone density and more in a 15-minute session. It is not suitable for members who have a pacemaker or an amputee. (Or are pregnant!)

Sessions will run from Monday 23 October through to Friday 27 October, commencing at 9.30 am with the last session at 2.30 pm. Each session will take 15 minutes. You will need to book a time slot at the U3A Reception desk where you will be issued with a receipt and ticket. Do not book a time slot just after you attend an exercise class. You can view the body scanner which will be used at inbody.net.au/inbody-570/
