Photo: Elsie and Jane will share their travels to Antarctica and Patagonia with a talk and lots of photos at the Forum on Wednesday 14 August.

I hope you all had an enjoyable holiday and were able to stay warm. Welcome back!

Our update this month includes details on Science Week; 2025 enrolments; classes with availability for Term 3 and 4; a talk on Antarctica; a callout for future class leaders; and a reminder about absence notifications.

Science Week

Science Week will be celebrated from 10 – 18 August. We are fortunate to have a published Science author Dr Christina Hart as a leader in the science area here at U3A. Christina will be holding two sessions open to all members during Science Week. You can enrol in these one-off sessions at 24SCI016 Planets and Moons and 24SCI018 Operation Overlord. For further details, see the article on Science Week in this newsletter.

Opportunity to share knowledge

If you are thinking you might like to share your knowledge on a subject that may be of interest to others, now is the time to make contact. You can email courseadmin@u3anunawading.org.au or pop into the Course Admin office and have a chat.

2025 enrolments

Many of you have been asking when enrolments are opening for 2025. Enrolments open for current members on Monday 25 November at 9 am.

You can enrol online using your membership number and password; or come to the office where it will be done for you. If you cannot remember your password, you can go online and click on the ‘forgot password’ and follow the directions; or come to the office and we can reset it for you.

Applications for new members to join for 2024 will close on Friday 20 September and open for 2025 on Wednesday 27 November.

Four o’clock Forum on Antarctica

If you are interested in attending the talk on Antarctica to be held as a forum on Wednesday 14 August at 4 pm, please register at 24ANT.

Notifying your absence

Thank you to all who are using the member absence and member apology system, but remember you only need to apologise once. If you mark yourself as going to be absent on the attendance sheet, fill in an orange form, or telephone the office, you do not need to go online and repeat the process. One method is enough.
