Earlier this month U3A Nunawading hosted a visit by the Commissioner for Senior Victorians, Gerard Mansour, who was very impressed by what he saw at the Hub.

While many classes are full with waitlists or even closed, we are pleased to be offering eight new classes starting next term. There are also a number of classes that still have vacancies and some are listed here after the New classes commencing in Term 2.

Visit from Commissioner for Senior Victorians

We were fortunate to have a visit from the Commissioner for Senior Victorians, Gerard Mansour, on Wednesday 1 March. Gerard is a highly respected and passionate advocate for the needs of older people and is also the Ambassador for Elder Abuse Prevention. He provides independent advice and advocacy to the Victorian Government on behalf of all seniors.

Gerard visited a variety of our classes and was asked a number of questions about his role, especially by members of the Current Affairs class lead by Alan Brownrigg. The choir also entertained our visitor and the paper craft ladies showed off their skills. Gerard was very impressed with the number of classes we hold covering so many subjects.

When we call you

Can you please add the U3A Nunawading Office phone number (9878 3898) to your phone contact list so that when we call, you recognise it’s us. So many members are not answering because they are scared of scams so our Office Volunteers and Course Admin team can’t get through by phone.
