Welcome to the U3A 2025 year!
We hope you have been able to find classes of interest to you and we thank our Class Leaders who give their time and share their skills so generously.
Read on for some important reminders, changes to car parking and notes on classes with vacancies.

Classes with vacancies
There are a few classes that still have vacancies at the time of writing. In the Art, Craft, Finance, Games, History and Humanities categories and in the Languages: Chinese, Italian on Zoom, Japanese Level 6, Russian for Travel, Spanish Level 3. Plus in Science: Materials and Human History. You can view these classes and enrol online at u3anunawading.org.au/courses-activities/ or go to the Reception Desk for assistance.
Two new classes
25DAN033: Scottish, English & Welsh Dancing. Wednesday 1 pm to 2 pm, starting 23 April.
This is a course for beginners, although experienced dancers are welcome. Dances will be taught in a relaxed atmosphere, with the emphasis on fun and enjoyment.
These are the social dances of Scotland, England and Wales, danced in a set. (It is not the Highland Fling). No partner is required. Many dances are skipped but walking is always an acceptable alternative. Flat shoes should be worn.
25EXEMR2: Floor Yoga. Tuesday 9:15 am to 09:45 am, starting 22 April.
You cannot attend this class if you are already in a yoga class.
This small class is designed for people who love yoga (beginner-advanced) but have difficulty getting up and down off the floor. The yoga class will be fully conducted on the floor and will combine relaxation, breath work and yoga poses. Also included will be some Pilates moves, designed to strengthen the core. The benefits will include stretching muscles and tendons, strengthening bones and very gently twisting the spine to bring greater mobility and flexibility, together with inducing a sense of well-being and calm. Participants will need to bring along a yoga mat.
Complete your online checkout
If you enrol in a class online by adding the class to your Cart, you must then click on the Cart symbol in the top right-hand corner then click CHECKOUT in the pop-up Cart window. Keep going until you see the Checkout successful message, otherwise, your selections remain unprocessed, and will be left just sitting in the Cart.

Car parking
Please be aware that the signage and directions of travel in the Esdale Street Car Park have changed*. Make sure you read the signs and follow the arrows. It is one-way only in the car park road in front of the Meals on Wheels and entrance to the Hub.

Also please remember the new time restrictions in Esdale Street itself (i.e. outside the car park). There is now one-hour parking in Esdale Street near the Springvale Road end, then further down some two-hour, and then further on unrestricted.
Parking is available in Luckie Street and in the streets opposite the Hub. You can then use the lights to cross safely. Do not park in the car park off Springvale Road unless you have a permit to do so. Both car parks and the surrounding streets that have limited parking restrictions will be closely monitored by the parking inspectors.
Exercise leader needed
All of our exercise classes are full and have waitlists. If you or you know of anyone who may wish to volunteer to become an Exercise Leader with U3A Nunawading we would love to hear from them. Training is available.
Waitlists
Many of our classes have large waitlists. If you find you can no longer attend a class on a regular basis, we would appreciate you withdrawing from the class. The Course Admin team is constantly looking at waitlists to see if we can accept members into their chosen classes.
Please have patience, especially in the first weeks of Term 1. Patience and consideration make everyone’s life easier.
Elsie Mutton OAM
Course Administrator
