New classes starting Term 2

We have a number of new classes currently taking enrolments including Lawn Bowls, which was suspended due to Covid last year.

Lawn Bowls Introduction (21EXES02) started last week at Blackburn North Bowling Club in Springfield Road and runs on Thursdays from 1 – 3pm. This is an entry level class for those wishing to take up the game. A panel of accredited coaches will introduce students to the basics from initial concepts to match play.

Beginners Spanish 2 (21LAN094) is for people with no or very little Spanish Language knowledge and will start from basic ABC / Vowels. Students should not expect to start with any reading.

Calligraphy – Chinese 2 (21ART006) starts on 14 May and will be our second Chinese Calligraphy class. Calligraphy – Chinese 2 will be held on Fridays from 2.45pm.

Term 2 Computer Classes

We have a great range of computer classes covering the best use of your Android phone, passwords, privacy, security and Google photos. All classes are held via Zoom and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions.

For details about each class visit https://u3anunawading.org.au/courses-activities/timetable/ and scroll down. You can enrol online using your Member Number and Password or by filling out an Orange Form at the office.

Gardening Group

Gardening Group (21AAVG) is not so much a new class as a group of members, led by Gabrielle, who are developing a section of the Community Garden at the Hub. The group of U3A volunteers gets together once or twice a week to plant, weed and water a section of the raised garden bed. Drop by on Monday or Wednesday between 10 and 12 to see what they are up to.

If you have any small plants, seedlings or seeds you would like to contribute towards our Community Garden, you can leave them in our Admin Area at the Hub or better still join the group by enrolling online or at the office.

Watching the herbs, vegetables and flowers grow over the coming months will be delightful and if you haven’t seen what’s been going on out there so far, the garden beds are on the left-hand side of lawn area as you look out of the Hub towards Tunstall Park.
