As the end of Term 3 fast approaches there are a couple of important functions occurring over the term break that I would like to bring to all members’ attention. With no classes for a couple of weeks it is the perfect opportunity to stay involved in the activities of U3A Nunawading.
Spring-time Celebration Lunch
Our Social Committee have organised a get-together for lunch at the Mulgrave Country Club on Wednesday 24 September at 12 noon. What a perfect way to spend time with members and friends (yes, non-members are welcome) over a scrumptious lunch in the lead-up to our Footy Grand Final. Dress up in your club colours if your footy team is lucky enough to be in the Grand Final. Tickets are available at Reception at the modest price of $35 which includes a two-course meal plus tea and coffee. Come along and enjoy some fun over the term break.
Grand Opening of Seniors Festival
The Grand Opening of Seniors Festival will be held at the Hub on Wednesday 1 October from 10 am – 3 pm. This will also be a celebration of U3A Nunawading’s 35th Anniversary. Bring your family and friends along to watch our talented members perform, as well as view our crafts, creative arts and science. More details are in the Seniors Festival article in this newsletter.
Our award-winning Treasurer
Congratulations to our Treasurer, Colin Carter, who has recently been recognised with a Victoria Day Award for Service to Our Community. It is great to see our members being rewarded for the many hours of voluntary work that they put in at U3A Nunawading and other community organisations.
