In late August, the Thursday Art Appreciation class visited the Potter Museum of Art at the University of Melbourne to be overwhelmed by the more than 400 works on display, including artworks and cultural objects from the University’s collections, loans from private and public lenders and new commissions.
65,000 Years: A short history of Australian art celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art while confronting our nation’s colonial history and the importance of Indigenous knowledge and agency. The exhibition, which finishes on 22 November, is free and easily accessed by public transport.
