Following our new tradition, we are again opening the Whitehorse Seniors Festival with our vibrant performances of dance, exercise and music as well as fascinating displays of art and craft across the Hub.
The Grand Opening will be held on Thursday 1 October from 10 am – 3 pm at the Nunawading Community Hub. This year’s program is as varied and exciting as we have come to expect from our wonderful performers and exhibitors – something for everyone to enjoy! View or download the program here.
The theme for the Whitehorse Seniors Festival is Connect, Create, Celebrate and we’ll be doing this in our usual friendly, active and positive way. The café is joining in the fun with a sausage sizzle and is open for food and drinks. Come along for a fun-filled day of joy, creativity, and community spirit. Bring your friends and family to show them how much fun we have at U3A. Entry is free.
Other events for Seniors Festival
The celebrations continue throughout October, with the Big Sing at The Round on Sunday, 18 October being a highlight. This event is open to all, with community rehearsals in advance for those who would like to join in. Another highlight is the Beyond Age exhibition and celebration event showcasing photography and personal reflections from Beyond Age, a project in which twenty community members shared their unique experiences of ageing. See Snippets for more information about both events.
All these events are part of the month-long Victorian Seniors Festival, a statewide celebration of older Victorians. Victorian Seniors Card holders can also enjoy nine (9) days of free public transport from 3–11 October 2026, making it even easier to get out, connect and celebrate throughout the festival.
