Last chance to watch Seniors Festival Reimagined

If you haven’t caught up with any of the entertainment in this year’s Seniors Festival, this is your last chance.

With the COVID-19 lockdown making our normal celebration of Seniors Week impossible this year, the Victorian Government reimagined the festival by taking it online.

Two of our Class Leaders Marie Pietersz and Paulina Chong were invited to take their classes online via video, and many of our members also joined in the Festival’s Dance Spectacular

Also celebrating Seniors Festival was the very enterprising Lan Tiet (with the welcome technical assistance of her husband Carl) who created her own class celebration of Seniors Festival Reimagined.

‘Exercise is also meant to raise our spirits.  I want to see smiles. My mission is accomplished when I leave the participants feeling good about themselves and enjoying the moment. And it starts with a smile! When we smile, the mind transforms itself. Studies have shown our body language does govern how we think and feel about ourselves.’

Line dancing at Seniors Festival

‘I wanted to keep fit and I thought I can’t stand gyms – all those machines and no talking, I’d be bored. I wanted to move with music because I love music and I’d heard line dancing was something that people can enjoy when they get older, with or without partners,’
