U3A Nunawading is a friendly place, but with so many members it can be hard to keep up with what’s happening. Key sources of information are emails, this email newsletter, our website and the ‘big screens’ at the Hub. We also have a notice board outside Studio 5. Follow these hints to keep in touch and avoid missing out.
Check your emails
If we need to contact you, we will normally do this through email, so please make sure you check your emails regularly and if you change your email address, let us know.
If you are a new member, you should have received a confirmation email after you enrolled.
If you are on a waiting list for a class, look out for an email saying you are accepted into the class. If you haven’t received that email, you are still on the waiting list.
Read our newsletter
Our monthly newsletter is sent by email. This keeps you informed of upcoming and past events and other news, so we encourage you to read it in full. Click the Next article link at the foot of each article to go to the next one.
If you have an article for the newsletter, please contact Helen Smith at
Check our website
Our website (u3anunawading.org.au) is the place to go for information about us and it’s available outside of office hours.
The website has all our newsletters and announcements, a list of all our courses, all the critical dates you need to know and lots of information to help you get the most out of your membership.
There’s also a login area where you can manage your enrolment and register an apology if you are going to miss a class (this pdf tells you how to register an apology online).
Watch the ‘big screens’
We post key information on the Hub ‘big screens’. Keep an eye out for U3A messages in the ‘big screen’ cycle.
Connect with us on social media
If you use Facebook, request to join our Members Only U3A Nunawading Facebook group (facebook.com/groups/615090622678351/). You must answer a couple of questions before you will be accepted.
Get to know people
There will be New Member Morning Teas in early February to help new members get to know each other. If you are a new member, you will have received an email with the details. If you need to know more, contact Marlene Fernandes at
There’s also a ‘Welcome to U3A Nunawading’ booklet. This includes important information about U3A, your membership benefits, and additional details you might need. As a new member, make sure you get a copy.
Join in the social events throughout the year. They will be advertised in the newsletter, on the ‘big screens’ and on the website.
Wear your name tag
Connect with people – let them see who you are. Wear your name tag at all times when in the Hub. Make sure your emergency contacts are listed on the back of the name tag – this helps us look after you if you have an accident at U3A.
If you are a new member and came personally to enrol you should have received your name tag. If you joined online, please ensure you come in and ask for a name tag.
There’s lots to keep up with!
