Photo: Some of the beautiful Christmas decorations at the Hub

The Hub is buzzing with classes celebrating the end-of-year, and enjoying the many friendships made. In this report, we’ve got some Christmas updates to share, and some important enrolling tips as we get ready for another exciting year at U3A in 2025. Be sure to read the ‘Get ready to enrol’ article in this newsletter to prepare for enrolling in next year’s classes.

Still room in some Christmas workshops

If you have not enrolled in a Christmas decoration class there are still a few spaces left.

You will need to fill in an orange form to enrol in these classes:

  • 24CHR02: Christmas Workshop: Book Folding. Wednesday 27 November 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Leaders Jill Withington and Betty Boucher
  • 24CHR03: Christmas Workshop: Decorations and cards. Wednesday 27 November 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Leader Sophia Liu.

Please wear your name badge to enrol

Remember, if you are coming in to do a face-to-face enrolment, you need to wear your name badge which will have your membership number on it. This will help speed up your enrolment process.

Don’t stress if you are on a waitlist

Enrolment time can sometimes cause anxiety if you do not get into the classes you want at enrolment time.

Please do not worry as the Course Admin team works on trying to make sure, where possible, everyone gets into at least one of their popular selections.

You will find that some classes are marked as a zero and everyone enrolling in these classes is placed on a waitlist. This is because the leader needs to make sure that you are at the correct level for the class. You will receive an email advising when you have been accepted.

Christmas comes early to the Hub

Once again, the Paper Craft class has made the decorations for our Christmas tree located on level 1 of the hub. Take the time to have a look at the beautiful works of this class. There is a box of decorations on the table beside the tree, please feel free to take some decorations for your own tree. Thank you to Kitty and the class for sharing their work.
