U3A to remain closed until further notice

As a result of today’s Victorian Government announcement, there are still restrictions around operation of the Nunawading Community Hub. We are waiting on further advice from City of Whitehorse, but until then, U3A Nunawading will remain closed.

We will notify you as soon as we have further advice.

There may be a few classes that can operate from next week and if you are in one of these classes you will be advised. No advice means your classes remain cancelled…

How quickly things can change!

On Monday 12 July I was listening to members enthusing about how wonderful it was to be back at classes again after a lengthy break, and how much they enjoyed the intellectual stimulation and the social connection that our classes offer.  Just four days later, we were back in lockdown.  Let’s hope that we can get on top of this latest outbreak soon.

On a positive note, it is pleasing to know that so many of our members are vaccinated…

Performers’ plea to get vaccinated

Your Committee of Management fully endorses the government’s recommendation that everyone who is eligible should be vaccinated if we wish to return to ‘normal’ life.

Many of you have already had both of your vaccinations and may already have seen this this video, but it is such an important message we are playing our part in promoting vaccination by sharing it again.

U3A Classes Suspended for a Further Week

As a result of today’s Victorian Government announcement that the current lockdown is to extend until 11.59pm on Tuesday 27 July, U3A Nunawading will remain closed until Wednesday 28 July.

This means there will be NO CLASSES until the morning of Wednesday 28 July either at the Nunawading Community Hub or any of our off-site venues.

As previously advised, classes on Zoom will proceed as scheduled during the lockdown period.

U3A Classes Suspended for 5 Days

In response to the Victorian Government’s announcement this evening that Victoria will go into a 5-day snap lockdown from 11.59pm tonight, U3A Nunawading will be closed until Wednesday 21 July unless the lockdown is extended.

This means there will be NO CLASSES on Friday 16, Monday 19 or Tuesday 20 July.

U3A Nunawading opens Monday 12 July

U3A Nunawading will open on Monday 12 July for the beginning of Term 3.

When attending classes at the Nunawading Community Hub you must comply with the following:
– Facemasks are still required inside the Nunawading Community Hub. Read more…
– Scan the U3A QR code with your smart phone to check in each time you come to the Hub.
– If you are unable to check-in using your own phone, see U3A’s Reception Desk volunteers. They will check you in using a QR Kiosk. Read more…
– You must continue to mark the Attendance Sheet for every class you attend. Read more…
