President’s Report

Bernadette Cincotta, Café Coordinator, serves our President, Gary Walker, with a coffee.

During the first week of term, I attended New Members morning and afternoon teas organised by Marlene Fernandes and her Member Liaison team. The attendance was excellent, and it was great to meet so many of our new members. See the photos here.

I am sure that all those who attended have a much better idea of how U3A Nunawading works and the enormous contribution that our volunteers make.

From the Course Admin team

Now that Term 1 is well underway and things are settling down, we have some information to help make your time at U3A easier. Please take note of the information on name badges and car parking in particular and the waitlist information in the next article.

It is disappointing that some members have shown aggression to fellow members – this is not acceptable and not what we are used to in our U3A. If you are unhappy with anything please make an appointment with either the Course Administrator or a member of the Committee of Management to discuss constructively.

Class Leaders prepared for the year

Our Class Leaders’ briefing function had almost 180 attendees. During the briefing, Class Leaders were reminded about how the email function in UMAS works and the importance of members wearing their name badges. Class lists were handed out.  The session finished with light refreshments so Class Leaders could catch up over a tea or coffee.
