Now that the Course Guides are available, you can get ready for enrolment week. Enrolment opens at 9 am on 24 November for returning members. New members can enrol in the same way from Wednesday 26 November. Please read the hints and instructions on how to enrol.
Our Summer School has been created to offer something for everyone — a lively mix of topics that are fun, fascinating and inspiring. You can explore everything from karaoke and facial massage to gut health, heart disease, contemporary music, and even the latest ’wonder drug’: exercise! And that’s just the beginning. Come along and be entertained by members of the Choir, Swing Band and Joy of Singing performers, plus members of our instrumental/singing, keyboard, guitar and ukulele classes. Adding to the fun will be our Rock n’ Roll and Line Dancing Experienced Plus dancers.
Congratulations to Terry Hart, our popular U3A leader and former Committee Member, on being awarded a COTA Senior Achievers Award at Government House on Wednesday 22 October.
Terry’s well-deserved award was witnessed by family and friends, including his proud wife and U3A leader Christina Hart, son Phil, Elsie Mutton, Colin Carter and myself, as well as friends from Terry’s other activities. Our President Gary Walker unfortunately had COVID so couldn’t attend. Terry was nominated by U3A Nunawading.
U3A Nunawading once again made a vibrant and memorable contribution to the Whitehorse Spring Festival, held under perfect spring skies that drew an excellent turnout from the community.
Our performers brought colour, energy and enthusiasm to every part of the event. The Silver Grove Swing Band opened with a lively set that attracted a delighted crowd. They were followed by our energetic Zumba group, whose upbeat routines filled the area with excitement. The Choir then delivered a spirited and heartfelt performance that resonated beautifully throughout the festival grounds. See the Photo gallery here

Welcome back to all members after our term break. I do hope that you had the opportunity to catch up with family and friends, enjoy the footy finals, or better still, get away from Melbourne for a short break.
Welcome to Term 4! There are only seven weeks in this term, and we hope you can continue to attend and enjoy all that you are enrolled in. In this article there are some pointers to places where basic English skills are taught – if you know someone who needs this help, let them know.

Hot on the heels of our 35th birthday celebration and Seniors Festival Grand Opening, comes the Whitehorse Spring Festival, this year on Sunday 19 October. This annual event is a fantastic opportunity for our performers and artists to show off their skills.
On 1 October the Hub was bursting with activity for our 35th birthday celebration and the Grand Opening Extravaganza for Seniors Festival. Lively and colourful performances filled the Stadium and Studios 1 and 2, while demonstrations occupied the library space and quieter pursuits such as art and craft filled Studios 6, 7, 8 and 9 as well as Meeting Room 2.
