Victorian COTA Senior Achievers Award to our own Terry Hart!

Congratulations to Terry Hart, our popular U3A leader and former Committee Member, on being awarded a COTA Senior Achievers Award at Government House on Wednesday 22 October.

Terry’s well-deserved award was witnessed by family and friends, including his proud wife and U3A leader Christina Hart, son Phil, Elsie Mutton, Colin Carter and myself, as well as friends from Terry’s other activities. Our President Gary Walker unfortunately had COVID so couldn’t attend. Terry was nominated by U3A Nunawading.

U3A Nunawading at the Whitehorse Spring Festival – 19 October

U3A Nunawading once again made a vibrant and memorable contribution to the Whitehorse Spring Festival, held under perfect spring skies that drew an excellent turnout from the community.

Our performers brought colour, energy and enthusiasm to every part of the event. The Silver Grove Swing Band opened with a lively set that attracted a delighted crowd. They were followed by our energetic Zumba group, whose upbeat routines filled the area with excitement. The Choir then delivered a spirited and heartfelt performance that resonated beautifully throughout the festival grounds. See the Photo gallery here

Welcome to Term 4! There are only seven weeks in this term, and we hope you can continue to attend and enjoy all that you are enrolled in. In this article there are some pointers to places where basic English skills are taught – if you know someone who needs this help, let them know.

Also, there are three offers to play tennis in Nunawading as well as a reminder to make sure you enjoy our Christmas workshops to finish off the 2025 year. And if you’d like some help getting ready to enrol, note our ’How to enrol online’ classes.

What a great 35th birthday celebration!

On 1 October the Hub was bursting with activity for our 35th birthday celebration and the Grand Opening Extravaganza for Seniors Festival. Lively and colourful performances filled the Stadium and Studios 1 and 2, while demonstrations occupied the library space and quieter pursuits such as art and craft filled Studios 6, 7, 8 and 9 as well as Meeting Room 2.
