U3A Nunawading is such a wonderful place because of all the work put in by the hundreds of Class Leaders and other Volunteers. To thank everyone for their efforts, the Committee provides a Christmas lunch for Class Leaders and a morning tea for all the Volunteers who contribute to running our Reception Desk and other activities.
Our 2025 End-of-Year Concert was yet again a wonderful showcase for the talents or our members, with an emphasis on music making.
Twelve groups performed over the day, with the Silver Grove Swing Band giving a stirring performance to begin the concert. Guitarists and ukulele and keyboard players of all levels showed their skills and there were tuneful renditions from the Choir and Joy of Singing classes. Line dancers and Rock n Rollers brought colourful movement to the concert as well.
At this time of year, many classes pass up their studies to get together to celebrate their friendships – some with lunch or dinner, some with more of the same activity in a relaxed way. Here is a selection of class breakup photos we’ve been sent.
From 10 December 2025, some social media platforms will be restricted by law to people aged 16 and over. Social media “platforms” affected include Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube as well as others. Scammers are likely to take advantage of this change.
As we immerse ourselves in Christmas and end-of-year celebrations, Snippets includes a handy reminder about a power saving bonus; details about local Christmas festivities; callouts for excursion recommendations, a volunteer economist, participants for a sleep treatment survey and mobile phone recycling to help to save gorillas; plus, a diary note for the 2026 Australia Day Concert. There’s much to celebrate this month, with Terry Hart being honoured with a COTA Victoria Senior Achiever Award and our U3A being well represented at the Whitehorse Spring Festival. We are also offering quality U3A Nunawading polo shirts to our members for a subsidised price.
Once again the Hub is busy with classes celebrating the end-of-year, and enjoying the many friendships made whilst attending U3A.
Christmas has come early to the Hub and we are the proud owners of a new gleaming white Christmas Tree located on Level 1. The tree is once again decorated by members of the Paper Craft class led by the talented Kitty Wong. Take the time to have a look at their amazing work.
Now that the Course Guides are available, you can get ready for enrolment week. Enrolment opens at 9 am on 24 November for returning members. New members can enrol in the same way from Wednesday 26 November. Please read the hints and instructions on how to enrol.

Come along and be entertained by members of the Choir, Swing Band and Joy of Singing performers, plus members of our instrumental/singing, keyboard, guitar and ukulele classes. Adding to the fun will be our Rock n’ Roll and Line Dancing Experienced Plus dancers.
