Welcome also to members who have begun classes this term. To date, over 1,600 members have returned from last year, and around 220 new members have joined.

I hope you are starting to feel a little more at home at the Hub as we move into Term 2. We will, of course, have Covid restrictions with us for some time but I think we are all adapting to the new way of doing things at U3A very well.
There have been a number of changes to our timetable to get the maximum use of our larger rooms …
We have a number of new classes currently taking enrolments including:
– Lawn Bowls, which was suspended due to Covid last year,
– Beginners Spanish 2
– Calligraphy Chinese 2
– a range of computer classes online
– and our new gardening group.
Although we had a very large collection of books at Silver Grove, donated by members over many years, they were not easily accessible, being housed as they were in a compactus in the front office.
Now, with the move to the Hub, our books are fully on show for all to see and borrow.
All members are invited to attend the City of Whitehorse Sustainable Living Weekend being held on 1 and 2 May at the Box Hill Town Hall. The event has been designed to encourage us all to make the small changes that can have a positive impact on our lifestyle, finances and the environment.
There will be plenty of free sessions presented by well-known experts
The U3A Nunawading office is closed for the school holidays and will re-open for Term 2 on Monday 19 April.
