Outlook is very positive for 2022

The outlook for U3A Nunawading in 2022 is looking very positive! We had over 1,500 enrolments in the first week with many classes already full. Our members are clearly excited to be back, and new members are eager to join. Welcome to you all!
Last week was party time where we thanked our hard workers and many classes held their own end-of-year celebrations.

I do hope you have all been accepted into at least one class of your choice. If you have not, be assured we are working with our Leaders and room space to see if we can address this problem.

Leaders’ Lunch a big success

After many years of holding our end-of-year Class Leaders and Key Volunteers Lunch in the magnificent Box Hill Town Hall ‘bringing it home’ to the Hub was a bit of an unknown quantity. However, the 160 guests joined in the festive spirit very quickly to make it a success as they celebrated the end of a ‘different’ year and caught up with their fellow leaders and volunteers.

Reception Desk Volunteers get together

After a year of stops and starts for our nearly 100 Reception Desk Volunteers it was great to see so many of them gathered together on Tuesday 7 December for morning tea.

Around 60 volunteers including members of the Committee of Management enjoyed the relaxed social event at the Hub that rounded off the year for our friendly crew.

Bert Lopes receives Chisholm Award

In recognition of his outstanding contribution to U3A Nunawading through his work on IT and Audio Visual support for our Class Leaders, Bert Lopes has received a 2021 Chisholm Community Award. The Federal Member for Chisholm, Ms Gladys Liu MP, presented Bert with his award at the recent Reception Desk Volunteers’ Morning Tea. U3A Office is now closed

The U3A Office is closed from 10 December until Monday 10 January

New and returning members can enrol in all 2022 Classes including Summer School and Term 1 Computer Classes online.

To enrol in face-to-face classes you must have received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine and confirm this by ticking the box in your online My Membership details.

Visiting the Hub – Council Staff will not admit you to the Hub if you cannot provide proof of your vaccination status via your Service Victoria app or a printed copy of your digital certificate.
