Harmony Day 2025 in pictures

Harmony Day commenced with food tasting in the dining area, with members bringing tasting plates from their cultural background. A colourful and tasty spread!

The event saw a great turnout, with the crowd actively participating and often cheering along with the cultural presentations featured on the day, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere.

New Member Morning & Afternoon Teas in pictures

During the first week of term, I attended New Members morning / afternoon teas organised by Marlene Fernandes and her Member Liaison team. The attendance was excellent, and it was great to meet so many of our new members.

I am sure that all those that attended have a much better idea of how U3A Nunawading works and the enormous contribution that our volunteers make.

Reception Desk Volunteer briefing in pictures

The Volunteers are the first welcoming voice to U3A and support members in many ways including taking membership payments, and providing information to existing and prospective members as well as having a friendly chat as people pass by on their way to classes.
On Thursday 30 January, 55 Reception Desk volunteers gathered for an information session and morning tea in preparation for the year ahead on the Reception Desk at our U3A.

End-of-year concert in pictures

The End-of-Year Concert was a wonderful showcase for the talented members of U3A Nunawading, some of whom were performing in public for the first time, and some of whom had years of experience behind them.

Class leaders encouraged audience participation and throughout the day the crowd tapped their feet, clapped their hands and joined in the dancing, creating a fabulous atmosphere in the room, often shouting encouragement during some of the livelier numbers.

Volunteers Morning Tea in pictures

Many of our members volunteer and help in many ways at U3A Nunawading. Members work in the community garden; organise the borrowing library; help with social activities and events; plan and organise Summer School; welcome new members and work on the Reception Desk; and Class Leaders volunteer their knowledge and skills to lead the classes that bring members back year after year.

Two special events were held last week to thank all these wonderful members.
