Melbourne Cup Eve in pictures

Were you lucky enough to join in the Melbourne Cup Eve event? With lots of excitement in the room, the members present really took to, and enjoyed, the spirit of the event.

Ample food was provided along with champagne on arrival, and chocolates, sweet treats, and coffee and tea were served during the afternoon. Nobody went home hungry. Entry to the event included a betting ticket for the actual Cup run, with two people winning around $200 each.

Seniors Festival Grand Opening in pictures

On Sunday 6 October 2024 the Hub was a buzz of activity as many of our classes showcased their skills in the Whitehorse Positive Ageing Seniors Festival Grand Opening.

The excitement came not only from those who were showcasing but also from their families and friends who came to support them. There were lots of cheers and laughter, particularly in the performance areas with the audience enjoying themselves and clapping to the beat.

AGM 2024 in pictures

On Wednesday 21 August, Studio 2 was filled with over 90 members and 15 guests for the 2023/2024 Annual General Meeting. The business of the day includes reporting to members on the activities of the Committee of Management and electing a new Committee of Management for 2024/2025. At this AGM, we farewelled three Committee members and welcomed three new members. The AGM is also an opportunity to recognise significant contributions to U3A Nunawading, by awarding Life Membership. The Photo Gallery from the AGM gives a taste of the day.

Bastille Day in pictures

Students from French 2A and French 4A, dressed in their French colours and enjoyed a delicious lunch at Le Voltaire Bistro and Bar in Belgrave on a very wet and freezing 15 July to celebrate French National Day. The restaurant was abuzz with conversation as we appreciated our meal and wines in a French atmosphere. These lunches are a fabulous way to get to know each other better in an informal setting.

Biggest Morning Tea in pictures

Well done to all our members who supported the Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea at the Hub on Thursday 23 May. The event was an outstanding success and $7.200 was raised from the morning tea, raffle and ‘guess the number of chocolates/lollies in the jar’.

Congratulations to the Thornburn Ladies Badminton Association who organised the event and thank you to all who supported the Thornburn ladies’ Biggest Morning Tea.
