President’s Report

The first two weeks of classes have shown that members were keen to get back into the swing of things and once again enjoy their classes and the facilities of the Hub. With several new class leaders and many new members joining U3A Nunawading, it looks like we are in for a very successful 2024.

The Reception Desk Volunteers and Committee Duty members have been extremely busy so I ask all members to be patient and respect the fact that everyone you deal with is a volunteer.

Welcome back to classes for Term 1!

Term 1 started off with a real bang, with the Hub once again full of members going to and from classes, chatting, finding their way around, and settling into their 2024 classes. A very hectic week for the Course Admin Team (Elsie, Ken, Mai, Cynthia, and new member Ian), and for the Reception Desk volunteers who did a terrific job handling hundreds of queries.

Summer School 2024 excursion report

The second week of Nunawading U3A’s 2024 Summer School provided an opportunity for members to join excursions to places of interest around Melbourne. Our members were able to explore backstage at the new Whitehorse performing arts centre, see behind the scenes at the Jazz Museum, go back in time at Rippon Lea and the Old Treasury building, and admire William Johnston’s renowned antiques collection. A wonderful week of tours.
