U3A Nunawading held its 32nd Annual General Meeting at the Nunawading Community Hub on Wednesday 17 August with approximately 70 members and invited guests in attendance. This was our first AGM at our new home and the first held face-to-face since 2019 due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Many of our classes will be on show when Whitehorse Council launches this year’s Victorian Seniors Festival at the Hub on Sunday 2 October. Xingqi or Chinese Chess commences in Term 4, our August Forum still has vacancies, one of our Tai Chi classes took themselves outdoors and you can now get a cappuccino at the Hub.

On the last day of Term 2, the level 6 Japanese Class were treated to a rare delight. Paul Maguire welcomed us to his beautiful home where he hosted a Tea ceremony.

In July, the U3A Military History Group went to one of Victoria’s important military heritage sites, the Puckapunyal Australian Armoured Corps Museum. We made the 250km return bus trip and enjoyed a special opening and guided tour by the Museum Curator, Graeme Woodham, pictured.
Whether it’s a year-long or short course, or just a single session, there are lots of opportunities to share your special interests with your fellow members of U3A.
This is a call out to those who are not currently Class Leaders but have a passion for a particular subject, craft or activity that they would like to share …
This month in Snippets we visit The Lume, photograph a Wednesday walking group, showcase the colour red and play a little table tennis. There’s also news of a doll-dressing competition and a musical event you may wish to attend.

U3A Nunawading’s 32nd Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday 17 August at 11.00am in Studios 1 & 2 at the Nunawading Community Hub, 96 – 106 Springvale Road, Nunawading 3131.

Signed nomination forms must be received by the Secretary either by email at admin@u3anunawading.org.au or at the U3A office no later than 10 August.
Pre-registration required
If you wish to attend the meeting you must register beforehand using our Member Administration system via your member number log in. The code for the AGM is 22AAAGM. You enrol as you would for a class.
The U3A Nunawading 2021 – 2022 Annual Report will be available on our website prior to the meeting. We will send you an email with a direct link to the Annual Report when it is available. Printed copies will not be available at the AGM.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, refreshments will not be served following the meeting.

If you cannot attend the AGM and wish to record an apology, you may respond with an email to admin@u3anunawading.org.au or record your name on the Apology Register which will be held at the Reception Desk at U3A Nunawading.
Cancelled classes
On the day of the AGM, the following classes will be cancelled:
– morning classes held at the Nunawading Community Hub which finish after 10.30am
– afternoon classes which start before 12.45pm,
– morning classes held in Studios 1 and 2 up to 12.45pm.
